¡DEATHBLADE!: IRON ANGELS (1987)

IRON ANGELS (1987)

If you ever felt Charlie's Angels needed piles of henchmen riddled with machine gun wounds, then IRON ANGELS (aka FIGHTING MADAM) will give you that—as well as a sadistic villain who seductively eats ketchup while watching a man be tortured. Part of a wave of "girls with guns" low-budget action coming out of Hong Kong in the late 80s/early 90s, IRON ANGELS is near the top of the heap for its excess and odd touches such as exploding fashion accessories and oxygen saving Buddhist meditation. Notably this hyper-violent, hyper-kinetic video assault was helmed by hyper-hyphenate Teresa Woo who wrote, produced, and directed this as well as two of its three sequels for her own distribution company (Godfrey Ho directed the mostly unrelated fourth, whoops!).
