Goofing off at the dawn of cable news! When Ted Turner modestly began his TV empire, Atlanta’s “superstation” TBS started as WJRJ Channel 17. Their middle-of-the-night news anchor was the plucky Bill Tush, who used the opportunity to create a satirical SNL-esque program for insomniacs and weirdos.
